An "Amazing" excerpt

Amazing Stories recently announced that it has begun accepting submissions of excerpts of recently released and soon-to-be released novels (and longer length works).

Amazing has previously published numerous excerpts drawn from the works of its regular contributors; the site has now opened up to submissions from anyone.

Excerpts that are accepted for publications will be published on Sundays; where possible and appropriate, the excerpts may be accompanied by cover art and by an interview or bio of the submitting author.

The excerpt program has been designed to be of promotional benefit to authors seeking greater exposure of their works.

When this program opened, I was the first person to respond, and so I have the honor of leading off on Sunday, Jan. 12, with an excerpt from "Riders of the Red Shift", which is being published in a special Weird, Wild West edition of Stupefying Stories.

Amazing Stories has commissioned an illustration from art director Duncan Long, which is nifty!

More Year in Review

Reviewing my records, I see I wrote ten stories this year, and published 12. Three stories were written and published in the same year - "Double Exposure" in Daily Science Fiction, "Barsoom Billy" in Science Fiction Trails' Martian Edition, and "The Relic" in Stupefying Stories.

Stupefying Stories

Just finished checking out my proof from Editor Bruce Bethke of my story "The Relic" slated to run in the December issue of Stupefying Stories. Looks great. I'm looking forward to seeing it published. This is the first time I sold a story to Stupefying Stories. It looks like, based on the publication date, this will be my 12th story published this year, which is a new record. It will be my 73rd story published since I first broke in, back in 2003.

If 4 Star Stories comes out with its winter issue before the end of the year, "Racing with the Sunset" will be my 13th story of the year.
