Over the years I've had a couple of cases where I had a story published in the second issue of a magazine, but now I can say I've had a story published in a magazine's debut. Encounters, a new magazine by Black Matrix Press, just came out with its first issue, and it contains a collaboration my myself and Ed Morris, "Stairway to Heaven".This is my 45th short story published in six years.

ReplyDeletePS - I met you at FenCon 2008, I was the blond guy from East Texas with the Cherokee and Irish past. Just thought I'd let you know I finally got a story published, and in ChiZine no less. Just wanted to thank you for the encouragement you gave (even if you might not remember) ;)
Yes, I do remember you. I know you understood what the area's like even though you moved away years ago. That's great! I've submitted to ChiZine and not sold to them. Congrats on the sale! I don't recall exactly what I said, but I always believe if you have some talent, some luck, lots of persistence and the right attitude, you can do it - and you did!
